Education
Paralysis Support is a program developed by PossAbility Unlimited to support individuals with spinal cord injury and the SQUAD that supports them—family members, caregivers, and healthcare providers.
Providing Support
Worldwide Support
- Education is provided on our site: paralysis-support.org
- Education includes video with instructions on catheterizations, bowel programs/digital stimulation, showers, dressing/undressing, skin checks, basic transfer skills, preventing pressure wounds, and more
- Videos are done by an NP and an RN and individuals with paralysis are models for the videos
- Real individuals and real bodies are shown in the videos (unique to our training) but heads are blurred for privacy; this allows you to see “real world” demonstrations relevant to life at home and outside of a hospital
- Have a need that you do not see featured? Let us know and we can add it to our future video list.
Providing Training
Real Training With Real People
Paralysis Support provides video education with skills done in real time on individuals with spinal cord injury. Many individuals with spinal cord injuries and their caregivers are overwhelmed after their injury and need concise education and examples. Paralysis Support seeks to provide the resources you need to meet those needs.
Say goodbye to wordy articles, skills taught on mannequins or demonstrated with cartoons, and examples that are hard to find. Need to see how to do a bowel program? Change a suprapubic catheter? Learn about autonomic dysreflexia? This program is for you!
Due to grants and donations, we are able to keep the cost small so that information is easily available for those who need it!
